About Heidi
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy & EMDR Therapist
A Compassionate Therapist of Color
You always look for ways you can grow in order to evolve into a better human and achieve your goals.
But lately, you are having a difficult time being present, enjoying life and living into who you truly want to be.
You have always worked hard to be the reliable one in your relationships; this has become a part of your identity, but you are realizing this is only a superficial part of who you are.
You feel overwhelmed by your own expectations and standards and this only feeds your sense of shame.
You are unable to ask for help, even as you are drowning from feeling burnt out, because your past experiences told you that you cannot trust or rely on others and you are afraid to be let down.
You have tried different ways to get better and yet you still experience difficulty accomplishing daily tasks, finding yourself distracted and disengaged, running in survival mode most days.
It is all too overwhelming and you are ready to try something different.
Hi, My name is Heidi Heejin Lee.
I am a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker in the State of California, under the supervision of Ah Hyun Lee, LCSW. I am based in Los Angeles, currently offering telehealth appointments.
Heidi Heejin Lee, Associate Clinical Social Worker, supervised by Ah Hyun Lee, LCSW
I was born in South Korea, and I immigrated to Los Angeles as a preteen. I am a person of faith, a bilingual Korean American therapist, and a daughter of a first-generation immigrant family.
It would be my privilege to hold space for your unique identity, layered by your familial, cultural and/or spiritual experiences, where you may have been the bridge between cultures and your own family.
My approach is grounded in cultural humility, attachment-based and trauma-informed lens. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and am on track to complete my EMDR training in March 2026.
I help those who are struggling to live in the present and are in survival mode, to have a deeper understanding and acceptance of their suffering and pain, in order to gain hope and live a fuller life that they’ve always wanted for themselves. Over time, as we work consistently together on a weekly basis, you will learn to be more present, have a better understanding and control over your thoughts and actions, and feel hopeful and empowered to live into your values.
You are welcome to reach out to me to book a free consultation. I would love to discuss my personal approach and what you would hope to gain from our work together.

EMDR Trained Therapist for Trauma Therapy
“What is EMDR Therapy? How Do I Know If It’s Right for Me?”
EMDR Therapy is structured and trauma-focused in an expedited process with lasting results. It encourages you to attune and pay attention to all aspects of your memories and your reactions in the present moment. All aspects refer to images, physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. You get to listen to and care for your inner child. Its process of healing also asks you to be creative in your unique way.
As an EMDR Trained Therapist, I can help you process single traumatic incidents, such as PTSD or adjustment issues. This means if you have experienced an accident or an experience that you continue to feel stuck about, I can help you feel “unstuck” and move forward in your life.
